QuICS Bio

Amir Kalev was a QuICS Hartree Postdoctoral Fellow in quantum information science from 2016-2020. His research is in quantum measurement theory, quantum tomography and estimation, and quantum foundations. Kalev’s research main goal is to develop tools, tomographic and otherwise, that would allow efficient diagnose of actual experimental errors in preparing, manipulating, and measuring quantum systems. He is also working on problems related to information theoretic aspects in quantum measurement theory to understand optimality and efficiency of quantum measurements. He received his doctorate in physics from the Technion in 2008. In 2020 Amir joined ISI/USC as a Computer Scientist.
