Hanqing Liu is a postdoctoral researcher at QuICS, working with Professor Zohreh Davoudi. His research lies at the intersection of quantum information theory, high energy physics, and quantum many-body physics. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Duke University in 2022 and was a postdoctoral researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory before joining QuICS in 2025. His work includes studying the universality and statistical properties of random symmetric quantum circuits. He also develops quantum algorithms and regularization methods for simulating strongly coupled quantum field theories, such as lattice gauge theories, with a focus on leveraging near-term quantum devices. His broader interests also include quantum control and quantum dynamics.
