Merritt Losert is an NRC Postdoctoral fellow at NIST, working with Justyna Zwolak. He is interested in how machine learning and other automation techniques can be used to scale up spin-based quantum processors. He earned his PhD in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024, advised by Mark Friesen and Susan Coppersmith, where he studied the impact of atomic disorder on spin qubits in silicon. He has a BA in physics and computer science from Dartmouth College.
