Nhung Nguyen specializes in developing and applying techniques in trapped atomic ions for quantum simulations of quantum field theories. She received her Ph.D. in 2024 from the University of Maryland, College Park, working in the group of Prof. Norbert Linke on using trapped Yb ions for various aspects of quantum computing. She earned her B.S. in 2015 from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, working in the group of Prof. Rainer Dumke, studying surface adsorption of Rb atoms. Between her B.S. and Ph.D., she worked as a research assistant in the group of Prof. Alexander Ling at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, Singapore, towards quantum key distribution with nanosatellites and as an engineer designing optoelectronic devices.
